The terminal, located in the heart of the Adriatic, is to accommodate growing demand and to become the future interchange platform between sea and rail on the intersection of Baltic, Adriatic and Mediterranean railway.

Transport/Logistics/Container Handling

Purpose of the job

Act as communication link between shipping line and vessel planners.  Ensure consistency of treatment among shipping clients regarding cargo delivery deadlines and cargo prioritization. Deliver terminal prebilling information, and terminal report to stakeholders. 

Responsabilities:

•    Responsible for the Services and Cargo execution activities as per end-to-end process map, receive and verify EDI’s / Work Orders / Bookings / documents provided by the customers and recording of the activities in TOS 
•    Create and maintain all cargo control execution deadlines according to Customer services requests
•    Execute daily Service pre-plan, follow up and record completion of all provided Services and daily activities (Vessel Load /Discharge lists / Custom Clearance / Yard services / Gate services / CFS services / VGM services / X-Ray Services / Inspections Services)
•    Maintain direct communication with all SL / Agents / Customers
•    Liaise with Departments (Commercial, Planning, Gate, Execution) for daily operational requirements.
•    Keep close communication with execution, planning, gate, staff for troubleshooting issues and solving problems during operations.
•    Report and document all relevant data during shift and maintain accurate shift report and records as required.
•    Contribute to “on the job” training of staff and undertaking other duties within capabilities as required by management.
•    Supervision and control over the units carrying Dangerous Goods transiting in the Terminal, about their related documentation and segregation at yard.

Requirements:

Education & Experience
•    High school diploma. A college degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related discipline is an advantage.
•    Requires intermediate English writing and speaking. Fluency and/or advanced level in an advantage.
•    Requires at least 6 months of work experience in a terminal, else within a logistic environment. Previous experience as a dispatcher is an advantage.

Technical Skills & Knowledge Required
•    Requires an understanding of terminal logistic and documentation process.
•    Knowledge of TOS is an advantage.
•    Requires ability to manage multiple orders, instructions and requirements.
•    Requires ability to work well with constant change priorities environment. Has familiarity with the strict implementation of international standards of safe working practices within marine, stevedoring and terminal operations. 

Behavioral Competences Required 
•    Effective communication skills to properly communicate with all kinds of terminal staff in a very high-pressure environment.
•    Possess effective analytical, numeracy, reporting and problem-solving skills.
•    Proactive approach to improving systems and procedures that will improve operational efficiency.
•    Capability to read the present situation and anticipate the needs and request which could arise in a short period during the daily operation.
•    Extreme Storage accuracy and reliability.

Language Requirements
•    Fluent spoken and written Italian is a must. 
•    Fluent spoken and written English is a must.
